The Rutgers Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM) program is excited to announce the development of the HR Analytics Course Track option as part of the MHRM program curriculum. Data analytics is fast becoming a centerpiece within the HR leadership agenda. This new HR Analytics concentration provides knowledge and skill in analyzing data to interpret trends and predict outcomes related to the HR practices driving workforce success.
The following courses comprise the HR Analytics concentration. A grade of B+ or better in the Data Based Decisions MHRM graduate course is needed as a registration prerequisite for these electives.
- Advanced Statistics for HR Managers (3-credit elective course) 38:533:542
This course is designed to extend the basic research design and statistics curriculum offered in the HR Decision Making: Data-Based Decisions course. It will focus on topics such as designing organizational research; measurement strategies; data management (e.g. collecting, cleaning and merging data; managing data in multiple formats and from different databases); answering questions with data analysis; and an introduction to common data analysis packages.
- Applied Analytics (3-credit elective course) 38:533:616
This course is designed to focus on the application of skills from the HR Decision Making: Data Based Decisions and Advanced Statistics for HR Managers courses. It will focus on topics such as: program evaluation; predictive analytics; presenting data in an actionable manner; project management; and research ethics.
- Human Capital Analytics Practicum (3-credit elective special topics course) 38:533:613
This Special Topics course is designed to allow students to practice applying human capital analytics skills in an applied project conducted in collaboration with a faculty advisor.
