X-Credit Evaluation

Can workers seeking higher wages use the skills they have attained informally on the job or in life to advance their careers?

That is the question the Education Design Lab (EDL), a national higher education nonprofit, is attempting to answer through a new project called the X-Credit, or Experience Credit initiative. EDL launched the project in 2021 by working with transitioning military members and veterans and unemployed and underemployed job-seeking civilians.

The Rutgers Education and Evaluation Center, is evaluating the initiative by conducting surveys with participants and interviews with key stakeholders from EDL and its partner organizations.
