Badge Description - Networking
To be work ready, current and future employees need to be able to understand how to effectively develop and maintain a professional network. Setting career goals and developing relationships with people to help achieve these goals is an essential professional development skill. Earners of this badge will identify short- and long-term goals for their career and participate in one SMLR or Rutgers career networking event to exercise the role of networking in career development and advancement. This badge demonstrates that students have taken proactive steps to develop career goals and link them to networking strategies for the betterment of their career and self-development.
Earning Criteria
- Earner created a Career Goals and Networking Plan and reviewed the plan with SMLR Career Services.
- Earner participated in one SMLR Networking & Recruitment Event or equivalent through Rutgers Office of Career Exploration and Success.
- Earner completed and submitted a 500-word essay to reflect on their strategies in navigating the networking event.
