Professor Scott Seibert’s research is in the areas of organizational behavior and human resource management. Key topics include careers and career success, leadership, employee motivation, and the psychology of entrepreneurship.
He has published widely in top-tier journals including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, and Academy of Management Journal. He has received the 2022 Careers Division Best Published Paper Award, the 2004 Outstanding Publication in Organizational Behavior Award, and the 2001 Academy of Management Journal Best Paper Award. He is among the top 2% of most cited scientists in the world for the years 2000 – 2020. He is a past chair of the Careers Division of the Academy of Management. He has served on the editorial board of Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, and Personnel Psychology and is Associate Editor on the founding editorial team for the Journal of Management Scientific Reports.
