Laura Beltran-Figueroa is a Post-Doctoral Associate at the Center for Women and Work, where her research focuses on the availability of child care in the state and the impact of various parental work arrangements on child care decisions. Prior to joining the Center for Women and Work, Laura completed her PhD in Economics at The University of Utah, where her research focused on gender violence and the distribution of child care and household responsibilities in developing countries. Her work explored the socio-economic factors that influence these dynamics, aiming to inform policies that promote gender equity and improve the well-being of families. She also previously served as a fellow at Voices for Utah Children, where she utilized evidence-based strategies to guide the development of a community center, ensuring that the programs offered were tailored to meet the specific needs of the community.
