2021 Womxn's Labor Leadership Symposium
Thu, 09/30/2021 - Fri, 10/01/2021 - 11:00am - 6:00pm

The inaugural WILL Empower Womxn's Labor Leadership Symposium will be held virtually on September 30 and October 1. The symposium will amplify the groundbreaking work that womxn leaders in the WILL Empower network and across worker justice movements are engaged in. Participants will have the opportunity to connect with others around key questions that we are all grappling with in this moment, and discuss important topics such as transformational leadership; leading in complex times; innovative organizing strategies, and much more!

Join us in answering questions like these:

  • What does it mean to be a womxn working in labor/worker justice movements NOW?
  • Why do womxn have to be asked 8+ times to step into leadership?
  • How is womxn of color leadership strategic and necessary to transform our movements?
  • How can womxn lead authentically, be supported AND be well in worker organizations?
  • What’s needed for womxn to have more options to work in, shape, and lead in our movements?
  • What innovative strategies and practices must we sustain as we re-open and move forward?

The Symposium includes a celebration of womxn leaders during the inaugural WILL Empower Awards.

We are committed to making the symposium as accessible as possible and will be offering live ASL interpretation, Spanish interpretation, and transcription services!
