Curriculum Vitae - CV (PDF)

Peter Rokkos graduated with honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and later graduated with honors from the Boston University School of Law with a Juris Doctor.  He began his professional career as an attorney in the New York office of Skadden Arps in the Mergers and Acquisitions group. He left to practice law in house at Lucent Technologies during the extraordinary booms and busts of the telecom and internet bubbles over the past decades. These opportunities led Peter towards a dual business and legal role in venture capital investment in the technology sector that highlight his 20+ year professional career.

Peter was Vice President and Counsel at Lucent Venture Partners, the venture capital investment arm of Lucent, managing $300 million in equity investments in early-stage technology companies in high-growth communications areas. Peter was most recently Partner and General Counsel at Comcast Ventures, evaluating investment opportunities, structuring and negotiating transactions and advising portfolio companies. Peter oversaw all legal aspects of CV from investment formation and execution through portfolio management and realization, and served as a director/observer and investment principal on a number of portfolio companies in the wireless, advertising, internet and digital media sectors.

Over the past several years, Peter has been fortunate to turn full-time toward higher education, hoping to provide a real-world oriented, experience-based practical perspective to students.  He has previously been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the Leon Hess School of Business at Monmouth University.  After several years as a Lecturer at Rutgers, he has now expanded his role to a full-time faculty member as an Assistant Teaching Professor at the School of Management and Labor Relations working in both the Human Resource Management (HRM) and Labor Studies and Employment Relations (LSER) departments.  His current course offerings include Corporate Governance, Business Law and Financial Analysis, working at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Peter grew up in New Jersey and has worked and lived in the New York city area for most of his life. He enjoys traveling, technology, gardening and raising his three amazing and infuriating children with his incredible wife, Diane.
