Corey Moss-Pech, Assistant Professor of Sociology at Florida State University and Dan Douglas Assistant Professor of Sociology at Montclair State University discussed Moss-Pech's new book, Major Trade-Offs: The Surprising Truths About College Majors and Entry-Level Jobs, exploring the relationship between college majors and the skill requirements of entry-level jobs.
James Jacobs’ book, Moving a Community College Forward, traces his journey from 1960s student activist to president of Macomb Community College. Watch this book talk for an insider’s view on the role of community colleges, and personal reflections on community college leadership and how research can benefit the social good. A panel featuring Thomas R. Bailey, president of Teachers College and Director Emeritus of the Community College Research Center, CCRC; Kate Kinder, president of the National Council on Workforce Education, NCWE; and Jo Alice Blondin, president of Clark State College reflected on Jacobs’ book and implications for community colleges moving forward.
