The tuition and fees, along with any percentage of increase from year to year, are determined by the Rutgers Board of Governors in July.

For information about housing options, visit the Rutgers Residence Life website. For information about meal plan options, visit the Rutgers Dining Services website


For Undergraduate Students

  • From the Rutgers Tuition and Fees page, select "Rutgers University - New Brunswick" and click on Undergraduate Tuition & Fees Rates to view the tuition and fees chart.
  • Undergraduate students in the B.A. in Human Resource Management and B.A. in Labor Studies and Employment Relations should refer to the column for School 01 School of Arts of Sciences.
  • Undergraduate students enrolled in the School of Management and Labor Relations B.S. in Labor and Employment Relations program should refer to the column for School 37 School of Management and Labor Relations.
  • For purposes of tuition and fees, students are considered full time if taking 12 or more credits, and are considered part time if taking less than 12 credits during the semester. 

For Graduate Students

  • From the Rutgers Tuition and Fees page, select "Rutgers University - New Brunswick" and click on Graduate Tuition & Fees Rates to view the tuition and fees chart.
  • Students in the in-person Master's in Human Resource Management (MHRM) program and in-person Master's in Labor and Employment Relations (MLER) program should refer to the column for School 38 Graduate School of Management and Labor Relations
  • Students in the Online Professional Master's in Human Resource Management (MHRM) program should refer to the column for School 38 SMLR Human Resource Management (Online).
  • Students in the PhD in Industrial Relations and Human Resources (IRHR) program should refer to the column for School 16 School of Graduate Studies.
  • For purposes of determining the amount of tuition and fees only, graduate students are considered full time if taking 12 or more credits for the semester, and are considered part time for purposes of the amount of tuition and fees if taking less than 12 credits.
    Please note: For purposes of Rutgers University registration and financial aid status, graduate students are considered full time if taking 9 or more credits during the semester.
