Monday, Dec 13, 2021

During the Fall 2021 semester, the Jim Chelius Case Competition, sponsored by Currie & Brown and the RU SHRM Graduate Chapter, was held for the Rutgers undergraduate and graduate Human Resource Management community. The problem for the case was provided by Currie & Brown, a consulting/data support/project management firm driving project management leadership for an array of major organizations. The timely case centered on ways to return to work following the COVID-19 pandemic and the future of effective work in the evolving work environment.

The Talent Tornadoes, consisting of Sebastian Machado, Sanchali Muhkerjee, Ritchie Mehra, and Isha Bhargava, and The Scarlet Strategists, consisting of Jessica Lesniak, Olivia Selmon, Ethan Racsok, and Taalia Azharuddin, represented the SMLR HRM graduate program.

RU SHRM Undergrad, consisting of Alessia Salazar, Rebecca Nitti, Kritvi Vardhan, and Kenechi Nnajiofor, and CSSC Inc., consisting of Shrividya Sundar, Maria Chowhury, Tricia Cole, and Sumana Sangisetty represented the SMLR HRM undergraduate program.

After an intensive final round of presentations to Currie & Brown executives on December 7, 2021, the teams garnered the following placement:

  • First: The Scarlet Strategists
  • Second: CSSC Inc.
  • Third: RU SHRM Undergrad and The Talent Tornadoes

The competition provided a practical application of HR knowledge gained from the academic programs and reinforced HR leadership development and world-class consulting practices. Congratulations to all!
