SMLR's Collaborations Spur New Programs in HR, Healthcare Management, and Women's Leadership

This academic year, SMLR's collaborations have resulted in the development of three new programs:

Certified Health Care Manager™ (CHM) Program Helps Aspiring and Mid-level Managers in Health Care Organizations

The health care landscape is complex, dynamic, and performance-based.  Health care managers and leaders need foundational and outcomes-related competencies that will enable them to fulfill their role and maximize the value they add to their respective organization. Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations – Executive and Professional Education and Rutgers School of Health Professions are introducing a credential for health care managers called the Certified Health Care Manager™ (CHM).  The CHM credential addresses competencies that will enable health care managers to maximize the value they add to their respective organizations.

New Affiliation Program With Gettysburg College Allows Students To Pursue Careers In Human Resources

When Rutgers SMLR first approached the Gettysburg College with an affiliation program proposal, Gettysburg Provost Chris Zappe said it was a no-brainer.

“It’s a ‘win-win’ situation,” Zappe explained. “It would allow our students to be halfway through their first year of a masters program before they ever step foot on a graduate school campus.”

The program, titled the Masters of Human Resource Management (MHRM) affiliation program, is designed to set students up for success in a robust career field by connecting them with cutting-edge research taught by leading faculty, a dedicated team of career services professionals, and a vast network of employer partners.

Leadership Development for Early Career Women

Early career is the best time for potential women leaders to identify and develop the skills they need to advance and map potential pathways to the top—filling gaps in the diverse leadership pipeline.  This Executive and Professional Education (EPE) and Center for Women and Work (CWW) joint certificate program, Leadership Development for Early Career Women, boosts the talent pipeline by addressing that need at both the individual and organizational level.
