Sumati Thusoo (she/her/hers) is a Ph.D. student in the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University. She joined the Ph.D. program in 2022. She earned her master’s degree in Women-Centred Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Her research interests focus on the human rights of working-class people in the garment supply chain and gender-based violence in South Asia. Prior to starting the Ph.D. Program, she worked at the International Organization for Migration and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - Regional Office for South Asia on the thematic area of combating modern slavery.
