NBC New York and newsrooms across New Jersey reported on the launch of our Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) apprenticeship program, an important step in the state’s ongoing efforts to combat the opioid epidemic.
Administered by the New Jersey Healthcare Talent Development Center in the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations, the new program will provide free classroom instruction and paid on-the-job training to approximately 200 New Jerseyans in 2018.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Rutgers President Robert Barchi unveiled the state’s $1.3 million grant to support the program on Tuesday, December 12 at the Livingston Student Center on the campus of Rutgers University—New Brunswick.
NBC New York (News 4) reported on the announcement in its 4:30 p.m., 6:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m., and Wednesday morning newscasts, while New Jersey 101.5 aired stories on the state’s largest radio station.
