New SMLR Program Shows Businesses How to Use AI, Analytics in HR

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (August 24, 2018) – The Center for HR and Leadership Development at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations today announced the launch of a new executive certificate program to help New Jersey and New York businesses leverage new technology in their human resources department. The Center also announced the return of a program designed to help women unlock their potential and climb the corporate ladder.

“Today’s business environment is undergoing transformative change,” said Jim Caruso, Managing Director of the Center for HR and Leadership Development at the Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations. “Disruptive technology, the gig economy, access to unprecedented amounts of data, the emergence of artificial intelligence across industries, and agile and design thinking will all require human resources professionals to shift their mindset to help their organizations be competitive in this new world of work.”

The new program, HR at the Crossroads: Navigating the Evolving Digital Landscape and the Future of Work, will show experienced and aspiring human resources professionals how to use artificial intelligence, people analytics, and other emerging technologies to achieve strategic goals and improve business outcomes. Participants will also learn how to align HR and business strategy; proactively adapt to workforce changes; improve employee engagement; and implement organizational changes.

A second program, Leadership Development for Early Career Women, helps organizations diversify their management team by investing in women with leadership potential. Offered in partnership with the Rutgers Center for Women and Work, this program is geared toward women who are five to ten years into their career or transitioning to a new role. Participants will learn how to address work-life balance challenges; map a personalized leadership plan; and develop the skills needed to reach management. This is the first time the program will be offered on an open enrollment basis since Fall 2016.
