A National Accelerator Healthcare Apprenticeship Conference was held on July 24, 2017 to build apprenticeships within the healthcare industry for employers and prospective participants. Leading experts from the State of New Jersey, Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR), and the healthcare industry participated as guest speakers and highlighted opportunities for partnerships with education and training providers. Current and former apprentices also took the stage at the Rutgers University Inn & Conference Center to share their success stories. Several workshops were provided in addition to a Sector of Excellence in Apprenticeship forum.

- Dr. Aaron Fichtner, Commissioner of New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development
- Dr. Susan Schurman, Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University, School of Management and Labor Relations
- Dr. Padma Arvind, Director of the Healthcare Talent Development Center at Rutgers University
- Dr. Deborah Green, Executive Vice President, Chief Innovation and Global Services Officer at AHIMA
