N.J.’s unemployment rate increase ranks highest in nation

New Jersey’s unemployment rate has increased the most in the nation as of November compared to a year earlier and ranks among the highest rates overall, according to the latest federal data.

The state’s unemployment rate was 4.7% last month, an increase of 1.4% since November 2022, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The next highest increases were California and the District of Columbia, both at 0.8%.
