Patrick Downes received his Ph.D. in Management and Organizations from the University of Iowa. He studies social capital, compensation, and statistical methods. He primarily views social capital through the lens of social network dynamics and teamwork, focusing on how interpersonal relationships shape employees’ work experiences.
His research has been published in Human Resource Management Review and Journal of Management. Professor Downes is an active member of several professional associations, including the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management as well as the Interdisciplinary Network for Group Research.
