The 2013-2014 Blue Wolf Capital Fellow
Ed Carberry, the Blue Wolf Capital Fellow, is studying the implications of broad-based stock ownership and profit sharing for the portfolio companies of the private equity industry in the United States. More specifically, he will be using data provided by the Great Place to Work® Institute in order to examine the impact of broad-based employee ownership and profit-sharing on key employee outcomes, including income and wealth acquisition, involvement in decision-making, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and perceptions of organizational fairness. He is an assistant professor in management and marketing at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
The 2012-2013 Blue Wolf Capital Fellow
Marshall Vance, the Blue Wolf Capital Fellow, is examining how specific shared capitalism plan characteristics (e.g., profit sharing and equity plan characteristics, eligibility rules, vesting provisions, and contribution size) affect employee effort and retention incentives, and the potential tradeoffs among compensation objectives inherent in the design of plan characteristics with special attention to the portfolio companies of private equity firms. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business Department of Accounting.
