Transferring to SMLR

We welcome transfer students to all our undergraduate programs. Students wishing to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Labor and Employment Relations must transfer to SMLR. Click here to apply for an undergraduate or graduate program.

Students wanting a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management or a Bachelor of Arts in Labor Studies and Employment Relations should not transfer to SMLR – they must be students in the School of Arts and Sciences.

Assistant to the Dean

Julia Colvin is the assistant to Dr. James Hayton, Dean of Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations. Julia assists in the day-to-day operations of the school and provides support for special projects.

Prior to working for SMLR, Julia worked in multiple administrative, program management, research, and finance roles at Rutgers University, Princeton University, and the University of Central Florida Foundation. She has also worked for Microsoft in their College Recruiting Group and for the Office of U.S. Senator Bill Nelson.

Jie (Jasmine) Feng received her Ph.D. from the Department of Management and Human Resources at the Wisconsin School of Business. Her primary research interests include strategic human resource management (SHRM), employee turnover and interfaces between HR and entrepreneurship. Feng’s research interests integrate multiple levels of analysis and longitudinal designs to unveil the macro-level impact of HR practices on the micro-level employee attitudes/performance/turnover behaviors in organizations (including entrepreneurial firms).

Patrick Downes received his Ph.D. in Management and Organizations from the University of Iowa. He studies social capital, compensation, and statistical methods. He primarily views social capital through the lens of social network dynamics and teamwork, focusing on how interpersonal relationships shape employees’ work experiences.

Omari Joseph is the Event Coordinator for the School of  Management and Labor Relations. Omari is the person to contact in reference to  scheduling room reservations at the Labor Education Center.  He is responsible for assisting Union representatives as well as many other organizations with room layouts and technical functionalities  for workshops, receptions, business meeting and conferences.
