Profile: Heather A. McKay

Director, Innovative Training and Workforce Development Research and Programs

Heather A. McKay is the director of Innovative Training and Workforce Development Research and Programs at the Center for Women and Work (CWW). In this capacity, Heather conducts research and evaluations and provides technical assistance on state and federal workforce development systems and policies. She currently directs a Lumina Foundation for Education grant to incorporate education towards degree completion in the workforce development system. She is also evaluating the state of Colorado’s federal Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training grant.

Heather's research interests include state and federal workforce development systems, skills development, college completion, workplace literacy, and innovative and technology-based training programs. She also specializes in evaluating education and workforce development programs. Heather completed her bachelor's degree at Bryn Mawr College in 2004. She has a master's degree in history as well a master's degree in global affairs from Rutgers University. In addition, she is a Ph.D. candidate in global affairs at Rutgers University.
