Profile: Barry Eidlin

Postdoctoral Visiting Scholar


Dr. Barry Eidlin is a comparative historical sociologist with an interest in the study of class, politics, and institutional change. Before joining the faculty at SMLR, Dr. Barry Eidlin taught at the University of Wisconsin, Madison's Department of Sociology. 

Dr. Eidlin's research lies at the intersection of political sociology, organizational studies, inequality, and social policy. His research focuses on explaining the diverging trajectories of working class power in the United States and Canada over the course of the twentieth century. 

Dr. Eidlin received both his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
