Assistant Professor


Jessica Methot is an assistant professor of Human Resource Management in the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University. She conducts research at the intersection of interpersonal workplace relationships and social network dynamics, such as how team processes promote trust and team effectiveness, and the functional and dysfunctional consequences of workplace friendships. Her work in these areas has been published in outlets including Academy of Management Review, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, Human Resource Management Review, Occupational Stress and Well-Being, and The SIOP Organizational Frontiers Series; her research has been featured in popular media outlets such as NPRUSA Today, Fast Company, Marie Claire Magazine, HR Morning, and Human Resource Executive Online; and she is active in professional organizations including the Academy of Management, the International Network for Social Network Analysis, the Positive Relationships at Work Microcommunity, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
