AFL-CIO Gives Commemorative Plaque To SMLR

On June 12, SMLR was presented with a commemorative plaque by the New Jersey State American Federation of Labor and the Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), during its constitutional convention held at Bally's Atlantic City on June 12-13, 2012.

The plaque was given to SMLR in honor of the 50th anniversary of NJ AFL-CIO's merger. Professor Adrienne Eaton, chair of the department of labor studies and employment relations, accepted the plaque and stated that the history of labor programs and SMLR's Labor Education Center (LEC) is entwined with the AFL-CIO.
