SMLR's Activites

Rutgers SMLR held its activities on Busch campus and welcomed the crowd of 83,000 people who attended the fifth annual event. Thank you to the approximately 25 SMLR students and alumni who graciously volunteered to help promote our school and the students, alumni, and friends who attended! View our photo album on Facebook.

During any given day, you can walk through Rutgers’ Levin Building and find undergraduate students eagerly discussing with professors how to staff, motivate, and develop team members in a work organization. You’d be hard-pressed not to easily identify these same students as studying in one of the university’s fastest growing programs—human resource management (HRM).

In yet another effort to advance the world of work, Rutgers SMLR welcomed delegates from the People’s Republic of China on November 16 at the Labor Education Center. The group compared and contrasted China’s Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) with New Jersey’ vocational and technical education. China, which has millions of unemployed workers and the largest TVET in the world, is redeveloping its systems to provide skills that are vital for poverty reduction, economic recovery, and sustainable development.

On November 8, SMLR held an open house to showcase the school’s human resource management (HRM) undergraduate program. Approximately 50 students came together at the Livingston Student Center to learn more about studies in one of the fastest growing professions—human resources.

More than 100 students gathered in the Livingston Student Center on October 12, 2012 to attend Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations’ fall Human Resource Management (HRM) Career Fair.Dressed in professional attire and with résumés in hand, HRM students were invited to meet with recruiters from more than 30 leading companies.
