Dr. Michael Merrill is Appointed Director of LEARN

Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Michael Merrill as a full Professor of Professional Practice in the Department of Labor Studies and Employment Relations and Director of its LEARN initiative (Labor Education And Research Now), effective July 1, 2016. Dr. Merrill will be working closely with local and regional union partners across the state, as well as colleagues at Rutgers, to deepen and grow the school's labor education and research services.

A record 100,000 visitors came to the university's campuses to view our offerings during Rutgers Day on April 30, 2016. SMLR's activites were held on the Busch Campus, where hundreds of people took quizzes for the opportunity to earn prizes, enjoyed our photobooth, and learned more about our programs.

On February 12, the Jobs with Justice National Conference in Washington, DC kicked off with an energetic and inspiring networking breakfast for women in labor and community organizations. More than 100 women networked and heard from labor leaders about opportunities in 2016 to bolster collective power for women workers.
