WHAT:      The opening ceremony of New Jersey Health Care Industry Week will be held on April 8, 2013 at Rutgers Student Center.Attendees will gain current information on health care industry trends and employment options from more than 30 vendors, get free fitness screenings, network with leading industry professionals, and tour a medical village courtesy of Saint Peter’s University Hospital. This event is free of cost.

New Jersey Health Care Industry Week will provide state residents with information on trends and opportunities to join the state’s growing health care industry. Each day during the week will highlight a different health care sector, including workplace stress awareness, public health, and allied health. WHO:        The opening ceremony will be led by Professor Susan J. Schurman, dean of Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations, and include keynote addresses by: 

  • Mary O’Dowd, Commissioner, New Jersey Department of Health
  • Aaron R. Fichtner, Ph.D., Deputy Commissioner, New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development
  • Denise V. Rodgers, MD, FAAFP, President, University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey
  • Kim Guadagno, Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of State, is not speaking but will tour Saint Peter’s Hospital’s medical village at 11:00 a.m.

New Jersey Health Care Talent Network, Rutgers University’s School of Management and Labor Relations, and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development is organizing New Jersey Health Care Industry Week in partnership with Brookdale Community College, Essex County College, Hudson County Community College, Middlesex County Academy for Allied Health and Biomedical Sciences, Salem Community College, and Saint Peter’s University Hospital.

New Jersey Health Care Talent Network (NJ HCTN)’s mission is to serve as a comprehensive resource for employers, individual jobseekers, and education and workforce development providers in a key sector of New Jersey’s economy—health care.
