Spring Career Fair Introduces Students To Numerous Recruiters

More than 200 students from Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations met with more than two dozen recruiters during the school’s Spring Career Fair, held March 7, 2014 in the Livingston Student Center. The annual event gave both HRM and LSER undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to network with prospective employers, while honing the interviewing techniques acquired through the school’s Career Services.

Neha Khulara, a student in SMLR’s master’s program in human resource management, believed that the event was important for her to gain information about opportunities in her field and connect with companies.

“I appreciate that this smaller event is geared to our school and interests. It was a good opportunity to speak some interesting companies,” Khulara said.

Recruiters from approximately 25 leading companies attended the event. They include:

·         American Conference on Diversity

·         American Red Cross

·         Burning Glass Technologies

·         Cintas Corporation

·         Emergency Medical Associates

·         Enterprise

·         Food and Water Watch

·         Hillsborough Township

·         Ingersoll Rand

·         Jersey Cares

·         Jersey City Medical Center

·         Joule Inc

·         Lowe's Companies, Inc

·         MeSH Background Screening

·         Northest Regional Council of Carpenters

·         Northwestern Mutual

·         NY Union Semester

·         OCM (On Campus Marketing)

·         Paychex

·         PSE&G (Public Service Enterprise Group)

Angela Alfaro, a SMLR alumna, found the event helpful in improving her interview skills.  “It’s great that Rutgers can provide its students, graduates, and alumni with opportunities on how to speak with representatives in a formalsetting. This can be nerve-wracking for some people,” she said.
