Esteemed Current and Former Colleagues Are Recognized For Their Service to SMLR

On December 16, SMLR faculty and staff gathered to recognize esteemed current and/or former colleagues--former SMLR Dean David Finegold, Professor Steven Director, and Joanne Mangels--during the school's annual holiday gathering. Professor Finegold, who recently completed a five-year term as SMLR's dean and is now Rutgers' senior vice president for Lifelong Learning and Strategic Growth Initiatives. His responsibilities include overseeing all off-site, online, international continuing, and executive education programs. Working with Vice President for International and Global Affairs Joanna Regulska, he is focusing on how to best position Rutgers for growth in these key areas.

Professor Director was honored for his 32 years of service to the school. For 29 of those years, he held several administrative positions, including chair of the HRM department and associate dean (for 10 years under former Dean John Burton and 5 years under former Dean David Finegold). Professor Director is returning to a full-time HRM faculty position in fall 2012.

Joanne Mangels was honored for her 25 years of outstanding work at SMLR. Mangels, former director of communications, was responsible for managing SMLR's Convocation for the past 7 years, the school's Web sites, and its payroll. She is now enjoying her recent retirement.
