Served as a healthcare provider in direct patient care as a psychiatric nurse and as a nurse-attorney with over 30 years working for nonprofit associations, consulting and in the Biotech/ Pharmaceutical industry impacting health policy; advocating for organizations, nurses, nursing associations including nursing unions and patients. Worked with cross-functional teams within organizations as well as across public, private and nonprofit organization teams to meet the needs of the organizations and those they serve. Initiated and led legislative and regulatory initiatives in for profit and not-for profit settings to improve patient care and access to needed therapies and change policies to improve patient and community services.
Since 2011 she has worked with the Healthcare Talent Network, first on the Advisory Board, then as a subject expert in discussions regarding grants for creating nurse residency programs and now as Associate Project Director Healthcare Talent Development Center focusing on creating a nursing career track. The nursing track seeks to build a career path from entry level CAN or CHHA through graduate level nursing including college credit at each level to enable people to move more easily form one level to the next.
