Lorraine Little Bell is currently director of Learning and Organizational Development, a division of the Department of Human Resources, at University Hospital. She is responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of managerial and professional training and organizational development services. She was recently director of Training and Organizational Development at UMDNJ, providing human resource development services to more than 15,000 faculty, administrators, and staff members.
During her 25 years of diversified experience in training, education, and counseling, Ms. Bell has worked for a variety of public and private organizations in the areas of higher education, health care, financial services, telecommunications, public education, and community libraries. Her areas of expertise include leadership and management development, management assessment centers, career planning and development, staff development, interpersonal communications, team-building, and customer service.
Ms. Bell has a bachelor's degree in education and library science and a master's degree in counseling/organizational development. She has also completed graduate course work in human resources administration and labor relations. In addition, she has her Strategic Professional Human Resource (SPHR) certification from the Society of Human Resource Management, and she is a member of other professional organizations: the American Society for Training and Development, Society of Human Resources Management, Founding Member for the NJ OD Network, the American Management Association, and the American Counseling Association. Ms. Bell is also a certified assessor and administrator for Development Dimension International Management Assessment centers, the PDI Profilor, Managerial Assessment for Proficiency (MAP), and MBTI. She has received training from University Associates, Petrella-Block Associates, Linkage, Cornell University, and the American Management Association.
