Master’s Certificate: Leadership for the 21st Century certificate program examines the competencies necessary “to lead” today. The certificate is composed of two 3 day programs: Building My Personal Leadership Competencies (3 days) and Building My Functional Competencies to Lead (3 days), allowing the participant to look at leadership from both a personal as well as an organizational perspective.The program(s) will provide not only the competencies necessary to be successful as a leader but offer practical strategies for applying these skills in the workplace. Both programs must be completed to receive the Master’s Certificate: Leadership for the 21st Century.

Who Should Attend: 

Master’s Certificate: Leadership for the 21st Century is designed for professionals with leader responsibilities or those who will take on these responsibilities in the near future. The sessions in the program are also highly relevant for seasoned supervisors/team leaders who have extensive on-the-job experience, but little formal leadership education or training. If you are in a leadership role, seeking or anticipating a leadership role, or are an individual contributor looking to develop your leadership competencies, then this program is for you!

Program Benefits:

Master’s Certificate: Leadership for the 21st Century will help leaders to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing business and industrial workplace.  Each session in the program concentrates on a critical competency required of today’s leaders.   After completing the certificate requirements, participants will have a solid understanding of the competencies needed to lead not only individuals and teams successfully, but organizations.

  • One-day programs; 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (2 half day modules)
  • Five consecutive days; 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Note: Includes an independent element for Leadership Styles and Leading a Global Organization.

All program materials will be housed on Sakai, Rutgers Learning Management System.  Participants are encouraged to bring an iPad, laptop or other device that will allow you to view the materials in PDF format during each session.  If you don't have a device you can download and print the materials prior session.
