Part-time Graduate Students

What Does it Cost and How Can I Finance? 

The cost involves graduate tuition and fees, just as for any other four graduate courses at Rutgers.

  • Nondegree students are considered part time because they may take up to 6 credits per term. They are not eligible for federal aid but can apply for a bank loan if they are registered for 6 credits. Many of our students participate in their employers tuition assistance programs.
     
  • In 2014-15, the tutiion for a part-time in-state student is $2361 (plus fees) for a single 3-credit live course. An online course costs an additional $100.00
     
  • In 2014-15, the tuition for a part-time out-of-state student is $3933 (plus fees) for a single 3-credit live course. An online course costs an additional $100.00. Listed below is the fee breakdown.
     

What are SMLR's Tuition and Fees for 2014-2015?

♦ Mandatory fees per semester. These are paid once each semester regardless of the number of courses taken:

Campus fee: $229.75
School fee: $41.50

Computer fees are based on the total number of credits per semester:

3 credit $ 88.00 or
6 credit $ 110.50

♦ Tuition per credit. These fees are based on your in-state or out-of-state residency:

In-state fee ~ per credit: $ 787.00
Out-of-state fee ~ per credit: $ 1,311.00
Online courses have an additional fee of $100.00 each.

The percentage of tuition and fees increases are determined in early July every year by the Rutgers Board of Governors, not the individual colleges.
