Rutgers Launches A Pilot Apprenticeship Program

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. — Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, launched its pilot “apprenticeship” program for community health workers on November 6, 2015.  The program’s announcement coincided with The State of New Jersey’s official proclamation of the first National Apprenticeship Week, which ran from November 2-6.

Fall 2015 SMLR Career Fair and Alumni Panel

On September 25, 2015, more than 400 SMLR students and alumni attended the SMLR Career Fair at the Rutgers Student Center on the College Avenue Campus, where they received information on careers and internships in human resource management and labor and employment relations. More than 40 leading organizations were represented, including Johnson&Johnson-New Brunswick, Ernst & Young, Colgate-Palmolive, L’Oreal, and Dow Jones. Several SMLR alumni returned to the career fair to serve as recruiters, which provided an ideal networking opportunity for students.
