Welcome to the James B. Carey Library

The James B. Carey Library, located in the Labor Education Center, offers reference and information services to the students and faculty of the School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR), the larger Rutgers community, labor relations and human resource management professionals, and the working people and employers of New Jersey. We maintain a specialized collection of journals, texts, reporting services and databases in industrial relations and human resources.

The library is open to the public. The library is part of the Rutgers University Libraries system (RUL) and the School of Management and Labor Relations and our experienced staff is ready to assist you.

Carey Library Hours

Our usual hours during the academic year are:
Monday–Thursday 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
Saturday  10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
Sunday  Closed

Facilities

The Carey Library has 10 public computers, photocopying and printing facilities, seating for group and individual study, and wireless internet access for use with your laptop computer.

Research Guides, Handouts, Orientation Materials

Carey Library staff have developed a number of online research guides; you can find them on our Research Guides, Course & Orientation Materials page.  This is also where you will find powerpoints and handouts from in-class research presentations and orientations.
