Profile: Linda D. Houser

Policy Analyst


Linda Houser is a Post-doctoral Associate in Gender and Workforce Policy, providing research support to the Council on Gender Parity in Labor and Education of the New Jersey State Employment and Training Commission. Linda is currently a doctoral candidate at Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Her dissertation research explores factors associated with child care disruption and care-related work interruption, specifically the impact of type of care arrangement and maternal employment characteristics, in the context of local and geographic considerations. Her other areas of research and policy interest include child care subsidies, state workforce policies and supports, and employment and caregiving in families of children with chronic illnesses. In addition to her time in academia, she has worked as a consultant for the Center for Social Policy and Community Development at Temple University and as a children’s services case manager and disability policy advocate for the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Philadelphia and Vicinity.
