Joan S. M. Meyers is a sociologist who studies workplace gender, ethnoracial, and class inequality, and the bureaucratic practices that can reproduce or remedy inequality. Much of her work is focused on companies that are owned and operated by their employees, and on the links between economic performance, democratic practices, and degrees and types of inequality outcomes.
