John McCarthy is a first year doctoral student at the School of Management and Labor Relations. His
research interests include Worker Centers and community organizations, with a particular focus in
networking problems that arise between organizations. Other interests include workforce and economic development, networks and organizational outcomes, and Social Network Analysis more broadly.
John currently works with Professor Saul Rubinstein where he develops new, innovative applications to collect and manipulate social network data, thereby expediting the cumbersome process of matrix
creation. Together, with SMLR Dean David Finegold, they are beginning longitudinal network analysis
throughout the region’s pharmaceutical cluster; their effort is part of the larger WIRED Bio-1 initiative,
which has received considerable funding from the state. |
