Profile: Ingrid Fulmer

Professor Ingrid Fulmer's research is in the broad areas of human resource management, organizational behavior, and business ethics. She studies relationships among human resource practices, human capital, and organizational performance, with particular interest in compensation, valuation of human capital, and worker mobility. She also studies social interactions in organizations, focusing on how those interactions are shaped by individual differences and by choice of influence tactics (e.g., communication medium, intentional use of emotion, unethical behavior).

Her research has been published in Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, Business Ethics Quarterly, and Journal of Business Ethics, as well as in other journals and edited volumes.

Professor Fulmer is currently serving in the officer/leadership track of the HR Division of the Academy of Management (2015-2020). She is also a current Fellow in the Rutgers Leadership Academy (2015-2017).  She has previously served as the director of the PhD program in SMLR, and as an elected at-large representative of the HR Division. She is a former associate editor of Academy of Management Review and of the International Journal of Human Resource Management. Prior to completing her Ph.D. at Vanderbilt University, she worked as a CPA and consultant.
